The Goals of the National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging Are:

  1. Create and share information, resources, and technical help on LGBTQ+ aging
  2. Train aging and disability providers on LGBTQ+ cultural competence
  3. Boost access to culturally competent services for LGBTQ+ older adults, families, and caregiver
  4. Strengthen collaboration with minority aging centers and the ACL network.

History of the National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging

In Feb 2010, SAGE and 10 partners received a historic grant from the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services to create the National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging. Launched in Oct 2010, the center has provided vital resources for years. SAGE received renewed grants in 2013, 2015, 2020, and 2023 to continue its leadership.
