When an LGBT elder expresses spiritual distress in religious terms or is seeking reconciliation with a religious tradition or with God, it is appropriate to ask if they would like you to connect them with a known LGBT-friendly chaplain or clergyperson. Remember that people may express spirituality in religious and/or in secular ways.
