Why New Health Coverage Options Matter to Me
 September 2013 | Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE)
"Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older people stand to benefit greatly from health coverage expansions under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). These expansions include Health Insurance Marketplace, the Medicaid expansion, new benefits from elders 65+ on Medicare, and a range of protections that make health care more accessible for LGBT older people."
This flyer delineates three easy steps to obtain health insurance under the ACA. It also indicates how LGBT older people will benefit from the ACA in terms of reducing disparities in coverage, improving health at all ages and expanding protections and benefits for everyone.
