“It is no secret that even under the best conditions, the aging process can be challenging. T hose challenges become exponentially more difficult as other inequities are piled on. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults have faced years of such inequities, leaving them with significantly more to overcome than their heterosexual peers.”

This article describes the need for aging services that are LGBT culturally competent and formation of the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging.
