“Lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) older people are often a forgotten
population when it comes to services aimed at older people, because
such services do not always consider a person’s sexual orientation.”
This tip sheet is intended for Senior Medicare Patrol staff and volunteers to provide basic information on the lesbian, gay and bisexual older adult communities. Senior Medicare Patrols (SMPs) empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse through outreach, counseling, and education.
