"Lo que tal vez no sea muy obvio para las personas mayores es que los riesgos de tener sexo son los mismos cuando uno tiene mayor edad que cuando uno es joven. En algunos casos, incluso, los riesgos pueden ser aún mayores."

Hoy día, las personas con VIH están viviendo vidas largas y saludables gracias a tratamientos que funcionan. Esto significa que el número de adultos mayores con VIH seguirá creciendo. A medida que más personas se enteren de que tienen SIDA y vivan con la enfermedad pasados los 50 años, enfrentarán dificultades para mantenerse saludables.
